The Peace Planet Proclamation
This Proclamation is a written document which declares our resolute intention to manifest lasting peace and the well-being of all Earth's inhabitants. It is serving to unite and support many diverse and extraordinary peace, justice, environmental, and faith organizations around the world today.
It is 11" by 14" in size and is printed on 100% recycled paper using soy-based ink, for sale on this website. The Proclamation is being translated into 14 different languages and has already touched many hearts on nearly all continents.
While not originally intended as a fundraising tool, the Proclamation has been incredibly successful for this purpose. We are offering a wholesale rate for purchases in large quantities. Individuals can also purchase smaller quantities of the Proclamation for their own use.
Global Peace Gathering 8.8.08
On August 8, 2008, Peace Planet Project is sponsoring a 24-hour global peace meditation, the heart of which will be in Glastonbury, England, near the ancient, sacred site of Glastonbury Tor.
Participants will gather around the image of a new symbol for peace, inspired by sacred geometry, created in the landscape using Earth-friendly means, by artist Laura Merrell. The participatory artwork will be photographed from the air by eco-photographer Daniel Dancer. Together we will hold the vision and vigil for World PEACE and the HEALING OF OUR PLANET for 24 hours. The gathering and image will be lit at night for aerial photos during dark hours. This promises to be a profound experience on a personal and planetary level.
We at the Peace Planet Project will invite simultaneous vigils to take place around the world from 12:00 am 8.8.08 until 12:00 am 8.9.08 (UT-Universal Time/GMT-Greenwich Mean Time). For obvious environmental reasons, we are not asking large numbers of people to travel to England. Rather, we encourage you to create your own very personal peace vigil which honors the place you inhabit. Stories and pictures from these simultaneous events on 8.8.08 will be gathered on the Peace Planet Project website.
